REAL ALE FANS GATHER AT HUDSON'S ALE HOUSE FOR A SPECIAL EVENT

On March 21st we gave Cambridge cask ale fans a special opportunity to meet with local expert brewers.

Experienced master brewer John Bexon was the guest of honour at our, ‘Meet the Brewer’ event. John, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the brewing industry, gave a talk to pub goers about the intricacies of brewing good beer, conducted a ‘nano-brewing’ session and hosted a sample tasting of eight real ales. John was joined by Tim Cowper from Milton Brewery and Sam Calverley from Calverley’s Brewery, who also shared their brewing experience with the crowds. Phil Bambrick from the Ely Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) also attended the event.

Our Landlord, Steve Lowe, had this to say about the event: “As a pub that specialises in all things ale, we were thrilled to be joined by these very talented brewers. Everyone that came to the event had the opportunity to try a real variety of ale, from the lighter, golden and pale ales, to stronger and darker stouts, and understand what goes into creating the perfect brew.”

He added: “Sadly we will not have John, Tim and John with us every day, but we do still have eight different cask ales on tap all the time, ready and waiting to be enjoyed. It sounds cheesy but we very proud that at Hudson’s, it really is like a beer festival every day.”

Steve will in fact be extending to 20 cask ales on Friday 6th May and Saturday 7th May for the Hudson’s Ale House Beer Festival, with the Cambridge Morris Men performing on the Friday and live music from Sj Mortimer on Saturday.
